My Priorities for Wauwatosa

These are my top priorities. If you share any of them, please let Ald. Ernie Franzen know!

Improved communication

The lack of local government reporting in community newspapers has left most residents in the dark about what's going on at City Hall. Often the Council seeks input too late in the process, and seems satisfied that, although a tiny handful usually ever show up, "at least we gave them their chance."  I'll work to change this by guaranteeing accessible and diverse communication channels, especially through collaboration with our neighborhood associations.

More resident input

My primary goal as Alderperson is to increase resident awareness and input on important issues before the Council. I don't come with simple answers to complex questions. But I do know how to ask critical questions, communicate well with my constituents, and vote as they and my conscience guide me, not simply as I'm told. Your voice matters, and I am committed to ensuring it is heard.

Development that makes sense

Development in Wauwatosa should benefit all residents. I will advocate for responsible growth that preserves our community's character and enhances our quality of life.  We need transparent, smart, and sustainable development strategies, policies, and spending decisions to ensure long term economic health without relying on increased debt and TIF use.

Protect and invest in our unique assets and infrastructure

Protect and invest in our parks and green spaces due to community value and environmental importance. Upgrade and invest in our infrastructure to improve safety and accommodate current and future use.

Easily accessible reports, data, and scorecards

Publish easily available reports on development, expenses, crime, traffic, as well as other information the community has interest in. Establish and publish city goals and scorecards to show our success and areas of improvement.
